PadiDesk Guide
Every PadiDesk WhatsApp command
You never have to learn syntax to run PadiDesk. Write to your assistant the way you would write to a trusted staff member — in English or Pidgin, typed or as a voice note. This page lists what it understands, with the optional slash shortcut beside each one.
Pause, resume and take over
Use these when you want to answer a customer yourself. Send them from your authorised number to your connected PadiDesk WhatsApp number.

Questions merchants ask
- Do I have to use slashes?
- No. Slashes are optional shortcuts. PadiDesk understands ordinary sentences and Pidgin, so 'stop replying to customers' works exactly like '/pause'.
- I still use WhatsApp on the same number. Will the assistant talk over me?
- No. On a coexistence number, the moment you reply to a customer yourself from the WhatsApp app, that chat becomes yours. The assistant stays silent on that chat for 12 hours of quiet, and every new message you type restarts the 12 hours. Other customers on the same line keep getting assistant replies as usual.
- How do I get the assistant back on a chat I took over?
- Send 'let the bot handle it again' or '/resume' with the customer's number. Otherwise it comes back on its own after 12 hours of quiet in that chat.
- Which number can send commands?
- Only your authorised owner number, plus any staff numbers you have added for desk actions. Customers can never run commands.
- I'm not getting alerts on my phone.
- Send any message from your authorised number to your connected PadiDesk number once. That opens WhatsApp's 24-hour window and any queued alerts arrive immediately. PadiDesk also emails the owner when an alert can't be delivered.
